#33 Team Quells M. Seaber Return Rumors; Rookie Debut in Season 7!!!
When the announcement of who was to drive RCR's third ride was made, jaws hit the floor. Speculations had been made that either Chris Dollerton or Madison Seaber would return or Megan Atkins would be brought up to the Snickers Cup Series. However, the announcement was that Dollerton-Falcon Motorsports developmental driver Clayton Seaber would be the new face behind the #33 Cheerios Chevrolet, making his debut at Daytona. Dollerton did make it clear however that Seaber will be in the ride on a trial basis. If his performance is not up to par, either Dollerton or Madison Seaber will make their return as a replacement driver.
Cittadino returns to Earnhadt-Ganassi; but not completely.
John Cittadino has announced that he will return to the team where he won his Season 5 Championship but not in a completely full capacity. He will run for Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing but will field cars out of his own Cittadino-Ed Motorsports. Cittadino will drive the #72 Xpedx Chevy with some other secondary sponsorships as well. Earnhardt-Ganassi will now be a 4-car team with Trent Dunham in the #1 and the #8 and #42 still vacant. As a result, Penske-Germain Racing will be closing up their #13 team and be only a two-car team during Season 7.
Shelton to Run First Full Season with RCR!
With the departure of Danny Wells to Michael Norman Motortsports, Richard Childress has begun building up its team for Season 7 with the acquisition of Jessica Shelton. Sheton will pilot the #29 Chevy with a primary sponsorship of Venom Energy drink. Shelton, currently a rookie, has one win so far after coming into the Snickers Cup Series mid-season with Penske-Germain Racing.
Danny Wells: Same Driver, Same Ride, New Team!
Richard Childress Racing's loss is Michael Norman Motorsports gain. It was announced today that the entire #31 team, including driver Danny Wells, will be fielded as a second Michael Norman Motorsports team for Season 7. Wells will be bringing over his normal sponsors of Mountain Dew Code Red and Rockstar Energy. Danny is a 2-time winner so far this season which means he has pretty much ensured himself of getting into this season's Chase for the Championship.
With Silverfox to Coyotek; Everham Fills Vacant Spot with Veteran Jackson!
There has been lots of speculation as to the Season 7 plans of Charles Jackson, who has been in a battle for the points lead for the second half of the regular season. Some thought he would stick with Gibbs for another season while others assumed he would move back to Hendrick Motorsports to drive the #5 Chevy. All questions were answered however when Everham Racing announced Jackson as the first driver of their Season 7 team. Charles will pilot the #19 Dodge with Dodge Dealers as his primary sponsor. The agreement was reached after the announcement that James Silverfox would not be returning to the #19 car next year.
"The Fox" Heads to Coyotek. Seems Like an All-Canine Campaign!
Coyotek Racing has caused quite a stir in the Snickers Cup Series this season with both their switch to the Audi manufacturer as well as the way their drivers have been performing this season. However, Coyotek hit the news again with the announcement that the #47 will be replaced by the #41 next season as the third Coyotek ride and James Silverfox has been tabbed as the driver. Silverfox has two career Snickers Cup Series wins (one with Tommy Baldwin Racing and one with Everham Racing) and is currently mathematically eligible to make the Chase this season. The #41 will be primarily sponsored by Armour All with some secondary sponsor announcement expected to be made soon.
Former Champion Reunites with Old Championship Ride!
When the announcement was made that Red Bull Racing would be returning to the Snickers Cup Series, there was plenty of rumors of whether Dougie Shears would be returning to the same #83 Toyota he had driven to the Season 1 Championship. Yesterday, the rumors were confirmed as Red Bull announced that Shears will join Joshua Michaels with a hope of channelling some Season One luck. Shears will be leaving Roush-Fenway at the end of the year which now leaves questions of who will take over the #17 Ford that Shears has put into Victory Lane one time in Season Six.
Michaels looks for better luck with returning Red Bull Racing!
Joshua Michaels has been in the Snickers Cup Series since Season 5 with the teams of Stewart-Haas racing and Everham Motorsports but has had a very difficult time trying to find his feet both seasons. After running a season with a Chevy and a season with a Dodge, Michaels will try to better his luck as the returning Red Bull Racing announced that he will pilot their #82 Red Bull Toyota in Season 7.
Former //NNSCRA// Champion will make his return to the Snickers Cup!
Just weeks after announcing Dillon Young's return to the #2 Ford for Season 7, Penske-Germain Racing announced that their second driver will be none other than the Season Two Oreo Truck Series Champion, Jake Rogers. Jake Rogers hasn't been in the Snickers Cup since he drove the #2 for Penske in Season 5. Rogers said that he is looking forward to the opportunity and can't wait for the season to begin. Primary sponsorship was announced to be Game Stop although Pennzoil, Shell and AAA will make appearances as well during the course of the season.
